The legendary country musician Toby Keith passed away on February 5, 2024, at the age of 62, following an extended battle with stomach cancer. Following his passing, many focused on the songwriter’s personal life and his only child, Stelen Keith Covel.
Covel, who was 27 years old when his father passed away, garnered more attention after he posted an emotional picture of him and his father on Instagram just before Keith’s death.
Covel also shared a heartwarming photo of himself and his father playing in a swimming pool on Instagram a few days after Keith passed away. The caption included the words, “You are the strongest man I have ever known.” an adversary. a real titan in your field. My beacon of light. My mentor. My hero.
Stelen Keith Covel is transparent about his personal life, in contrast to some famous children. Instagram claims that in 2021, Covel wed Haley Covel. The Covels reside in the Oklahoma City region, per LinkedIn.

Covel is listed as the owner of multiple businesses, including Sellout Crowd Media, an online publication that covers Oklahoma sports, and 405 Burger Bar in Norman, Oklahoma, according to LinkedIn. Covel describes himself as a “... [E]xperienced founder with a demonstrated history of working in the entertainment industry” on his LinkedIn bio.
Keith’s youngest child, Covel, has two elder sisters. The oldest, Shelley Covel Rowland, was adopted by Keith after he wed Tricia Lucus, the mother of all of his children, even though she had a different father. And then there’s Krystal Keith, a musician who has followed in her father’s footsteps.
Covel has also been open about his relationship with his well-known father throughout the years. He shared a cute photo of Covel and Keith from Covel’s early years in 2014. The caption said, “Tell me where I get it from………. they always wonder who, then they meet my pops and tell him Stelen’s just another you.”
